Alice Gauthier and Rob Miles, two artists in Paris
- To meet Alice and Rob, thanks to our friend Peter, was to be inmersed into one of the many villages that make up Paris, a wild swim in their creative neighbourhood. Their respective universes are visual and musical, stimulating all the senses.
- Painting, drawing, lithography, music...
ALICE GAUTHIER
Alice Gauthier’s work is imbued with sensitivity and softness. Her work, at the same time dense and light, seems to emerge as much from the heart as from the brain, the belly, the hands… it is therefore overflowing with emotions.
In her drawings, paintings and lithography I see floating faces, bodies, but also elements related to nature, sometimes without knowing if it is the animal, vegetable or mineral world.
The forms, textures and colours are similar to the vision one could have from a microscope or a telescope, seen through the filter of the human imagination.
These are true artworks that take us to the boundaries between our inner emotions and our relationship to the outside world, whether that outside world is other people or nature.

ROB MILES
Rob Miles makes work that speaks to a clothing and volume designer. He explores the possible paths between two-dimensional and three-dimensional perception.
Capturing a volume with the eye, recording it mentally, recomposing it, restoring it, sometimes in exploded views, often in a strange way that challenges our sense of perspective.
The results are surprising and varied. His collages, infinitely detailed, are like contemporary marquetry, his drawings and paintings like toolboxes filled with spare parts, body parts or objects, coloured or black and white.
Some of his work is more animated, dancing to music, in movement.
I would be tempted to describe his visual universe as a raw and wild graphic language.
